Our Mission
Palms Performing Arts was created in 2021 by Hayden Campbell, a long time passionate dancer and teacher who is committed to bringing a wider variety of creative activity to the Palms community for children and adults. With an emphasis on connection, empowerment, vulnerability and positivity, Hayden wishes to share her knowledge with many, assisting all on their own personal creative journeys. Taking her role as a teacher and mentor very seriously, Hayden strongly believes that the life skills children develop by studying dance serve them throughout their adult lives.
PPA’s primary focus is to provide a supportive, honest and fun environment for children and adults to flourish in, not only creatively but also as people. Teaching students to find inspiration in their peers and mentors rather than compare themselves to them, PPA will always bring the focus back to the student’s own journey and their own goals. We encourage finding happiness in their own achievements as well as the dancers around them.
Principal of PPA
Hayden Campbell has been teaching for a span of 14 years, sharing her abundant and creative knowledge with countless students far and wide. Growing up herself on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Hayden has danced all over the world throughout her career. After studying at Brent Street to gain her Cert IV in performing arts, she was offered a contract to dance in many Bollywood Films in India. Following this, she then worked in Singapore, performing in cabarets, live corporate shows and night club productions.
Not long after completing this contract, Hayden travelled to Europe to take up an offer performing with the cast of the cruise ship MSC Musica, dancing in many shows aboard the boat. After completing this contract, Hayden then returned to India for Bollywood once again, before signing a 14 month contract with Ringling Bros & Barnum and Bailey Circus in the USA as a dancer and aerialist. This contract was the 145th tour of the prestigious circus and saw her working with well renowned choreographers Michael Schwandt, Preston Mui and Oskar Rodriguez. Performing in over 50 different American cities in some of the biggest arenas and theatres in the country and making several tv appearances for news stations and tv advertising, she also was given the opportunity to dance in the opening of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago.
Hayden now divides her time between performing and teaching. She is a regular cast member for shows by Entertainment Works Australia and freelances doing music videos and live shows. Eager to share her knowledge and passion with many students, Hayden strives to help students experience the magic and elation dancing and movement can bring to one’s life. Giving the children inspiration and something to challenge them and help them grow, she believes in teaching a strong work ethic and feels it’s important to encourage creativity and the arts in young people, giving them a skill that can flow into so many other aspects of life.
